I swallowed my pride this morning and weighed in at 209.4. I'm pretty tall, but not that tall. At that weight I should be over six feet!
I'm thinking about fasting sweets for Lent. It is a huge stronghold for me. There are two family birthdays in March, though. My husband brings a lot of baked item in the house and that makes it hard...especially if emotional reserves are running low. It is very hard to resist.
Ran out to the store tonight and spent some extra time in the produce aisle, selecting a few things I don't normally get. There were golden sweet potatoes and I also got some fresh watercress and red leaf lettuce for salads instead of the bagged ones. I did get some bagged baby spinach. It's easier for me to deal with than the loose leaves. I picked up some escarole as well. I think I am going to make a white bean/escarole soup tomorrow to have with my lunch.
Also got 100 calorie wraps from La Tortilla factory. Wraps are such a great mainstay of a healthy diet for people on the run. I'll report on those when I have a chance to try them.
Today didn't go quite as well as I would have liked as far as clean eating, but it wasn't a disaster either. Baby steps, baby steps.

About me
Emotional eating and weight loss ups and downs have been a huge part of my forty-something life. I lost close to 50 pounds after the birth of my fourth son. Unfortunately the weight has crept back on over the past few years.
Being fat in Florida STINKS. No hiding under winter clothes for five months like in NY. People here seem to have time to live at the gym. I've been avoiding the full length mirror at Target for years now. My wardrobe consists of black, large tops that minimize the hated muffin top that I've been sporting for too long.
Inspired by Pudget and Plus Size Bloggers, I'm hoping that journaling and tracking my efforts will keep me accountable and motivated!
